#Eda85daysinJapan | Chapter 3 | (Kyoto Part 11)
This day marked our last day traveling together as a group in Kyoto, and it couldn’t have ended on a better note.
We started the morning at Sanjusangendo (三十三間堂). Photos aren't allowed inside, which honestly lets you be completely present. Standing in front of all 1,001 Kannon statues side-by-side in total silence is pure awe—pictures wouldn't do it justice anyway.
Strolling around afterward, we randomly stumbled upon a small restaurant run by elderlies selling Osaka-style pan-fried goodies. It was simple, unbelievably cheap, and probably one of the best meals of the trip so far. Right around the corner, I realized we were right next to a duck-themed shop I had bookmarked weeks ago! Total coincidence, but I managed to grab my souvenirs.
Before calling it an afternoon, we visited Inabado (因幡堂). It’s famous for pet protection, and being there felt extra special—we even bumped into a few local doggies visiting with their owners.
After grabbing a quick afternoon drink, we split up for a quiet solo walk around the neighborhood, then met back up in the evening for a big hotpot dinner to wrap up this stretch of the trip.
