#Eda85daysinJapan | Chapter 4 (Hokuriku) | 15 May 2026

🗓️ 15 May 2026

📍 Fukui

I actually adjusted my itinerary to arrive in Fukui one day earlier just so I could reunite with friends and visit the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum together. They had been staying in Kanazawa for the past two weeks, and the timing felt too good to miss.

This was my first time heading north on this 85-day journey. After arriving at Fukui JR Station, we stored my luggage and went straight to the museum.

I’ve always been a dinosaur fan (though I still can’t pronounce most of the species haha). Whenever I travel to places like London or New York, visiting a dinosaur museum is always on my list. Standing under those massive skeletons never gets old. What really stood out at the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum was the design — the lighting and the way everything was curated made the whole experience feel special and carefully thought out.

We spent the afternoon walking through the exhibits together, catching up, laughing a lot, and taking way too many photos. We even had lunch inside the museum with the dinosaurs. Simple, convenient, and just right after a morning of travel.

Starting this new chapter of the 85-day journey with old friends and dinosaurs felt like the perfect reset after Kyoto. After two weeks of deep reflection and temple walks, this day brought a lighter, more joyful energy.
